Good Times

On to more adventures!
Gavin and the RHS track team jumped on the bus to St. George for a 3 day track meet. I took Gavin to have a good lunch before he headed out. I am sure proud of that good kid.
Clint and I were also able to go to a wedding reception for Tausha (Nelson) and Crew Libby. Tausha's parents Clint and Shelly are our good friends and have been for along time, and it was so good to see them in such a happy moment! It makes life so memorable when you get to share these special moments with people that you love. I love this beautiful girl and am so happy for her.
I remember years ago when  Clint and Shelly were trying to adopt, and received the news that they had a baby girl that was coming to them in just 3 short days...Me, Shelly, Natalie, Theresa, and Veralynn were all serving together in the primary presidency at that time, and I remember all of us gathering up a can of pink paint and some brushes and painting a pink baby girl nursery and laughing and crying together because we were soooo excited for Shelly. I have LOVED her ever since then.
Gavin also found his cousin Brier Gailey at the track meet in St. George and sent me a picture of the two of them together. It made my heart SO happy to see them so happy, and supporting each other even as they were so far away from home and from the rest of their families.
With the boys gone and the girls at home with me on a Friday night, it was the perfect opportunity to grab a friend and head out for some fun.
Chloe Brown came with us to Scheels where we did a bunch of window shopping and even took a ride on the Ferris wheel!
The girls all brought their own money, and Kesslyn was the only one that went home with anything.
She bought a small stuffed animal (surprise, surprise!), a small bunny figurine, and a bunny pen. She was SO excited and I think a little proud of herself to spend her own money that she has been saving for so long.
I took the girls to the Habit for burgers and then took them home to hang out for the night. Then as soon as Clint got home  we went on a date. I LOVE being with him the most. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my kids, but Clint is my very BEST friend!
Happy weekend, and we will see you again here in a week! We are heading out tomorrow for a spring break in St. George! Yippee!! :)

Ceramics Class

When Kambriella told me about the palm tree she was making in ceramics class, she was so excited and couldn't wait to show me. :) She said that he ceramics teacher was SO impressed with her work, and that THIS was the BEST palm tree she had seen in all of her years in teaching! Wow! What a compliment Kambriella! The teacher even took her into another room and cleared a top shelf where she could store it until it was completed so that no one would be tempted to touch it and accidentally break it.
I could see everything that Kambriella was talking about when she finally got to bring it home!
WOW!!! Kambriella, it look like something that we would buy from the store or order from Amazon!!!
You are SO talented Kambriella, but not only in ceramics class, but in everything you do! You are full of talents and spiritual gifts and it is so fun living this life with you and watching you learn and grow, and develop those gifts that you have inherited both from your dad and I, but especially from your Heavenly Parents. I love you Kambriella! I'm excited to see what else you will dream up and create!

The Most Important Things For Today

This week has been a fun little whirlwind!
I have filled my days with the most important things for each day, and feeling good about where I've been...
I drove up to Logan to see my sister/friend Heather who has a birthday this week! We went to lunch at Zupas and talked and talked. (The conversation was what we needed more than anything. :)
Then I made it home just in time to take Kesslyn to her free trial gymnastics class that she was SO excited about!!! (And a little nervous too. :)
She tried the balance beam, the spring board and floor, the trampoline, the bars, and the mats.
As soon as her class was over she came right out and asked me if she could sign up!
OF COURSE YOU CAN SIGN UP!!!
I'm so happy that you have found something that you WANT to try, that will help you to put those awesome talents that you have out on a candlestick, and not under a bushel. ;)
Kesslyn and I got home from her class just in time to take Kambriella and her friend Cambria to the Jordan River temple to do baptisms there.
I think this is one of the best friend dates that you can go on! :)
When they were done we went to pick them up and I let them pick where they wanted to go for dinner.
They picked Zupas! So, yes, I had Zupas for both of my meals that day. :)
Yesterday was also a trip up to Ogden for Clint's Aunt Tammy's funeral.
She was a very kind soul, and passed away so quickly at only the age of 60. That seems so young to me...
But one thing that is for sure, each time we get together with family, no matter the circumstances, I grow closer to them and am always grateful for the time we have together.
We need to remember to embrace our loved ones every single day.
Love unconditionally and always try to leave people better than you found them. Each soul is tender and special and we NEED each other!

The Weekend

This weekend was full of good things, like a surprise birthday party for Gavin's friend Evan,
a last minute visit from Maicen (a.k.a. Maymay) ;)
Kesslyn's delivery of her hair scrunchies that she made at activity days,
Cleaning the church, the youth helping with the food drive, watching Gavin (mostly waiting for his turn) at his track meet, and the kids going to a special youth fireside with Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the quorum of the twelve apostles. I love how Kambriella had a light bulb moment where she said she listened to a story told that helped her realize that the spirit speaks to everyone in a voice and in a way that they can understand...the spirit speaks "Kambriella!"
That was my favorite, listening to my kids tell me the things that they learned, and how happy they were when they came home from the fireside. They were full of the Spirit!
I made this yummy fruit salad to take to a birthday dinner at the Brown home, where we were PRIVELEGED to eat THE BEST homemade Mexican gorditas by a family friend, Maria and Mac Griffith. (One of the cute families that went with us on the house boat at Lake Powell.)

Clint and I also got invited to tour the most AMAZING home of Corey Chapman, owner of Rockscapes. It was SO fun, and such a great weekend.
Bring on Monday!

Strong Work

Well, it's been a great week!
We got to celebrate Carew this week turning 24. ;)
Dinner with the family, finding out the good news that we are going to be grandparents again, a play and dinner date to Slackwater, lunch with Carew, and treats and gifts!
Carew we really love you!
We watched Gavin in his track meet at Herriman! It was freezing cold, which didn't make for very great jumps. But that's ok! It still makes for some great experiences and practice. We are proud of you Gavin!
We also provided the snacks and treats for the home tennis match at RHS yesterday. Gavin got a pretty bad cut on his finger opening a can of tennis balls and was bleeding out 3 band aids all over the court! The team trainer ended up coming over and working her magic on him, and then him and Ashton were able to continue playing, and ended up winning against Hunter High.
It was also St. Patrick's Day today, we all wore green :) Kesslyn also went to activity days...
Strong work this week family! Let's keep it up!
On to the weekend!

Happy Birthday Daddy Carew

Happy Happy Birthday to my amazing son Carew!!!
Today you are 24! WHERE has the time gone??
Thankfully it has gone by with some amazing people by your side, especially your beautiful and talented wife Kara. :)
On Sunday these guys came over and we ate a yummy dinner of Carew's request...Sugar steaks, garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, asparagus, French bread and pretzel salad. YUM!
Carew had also been asking me to give him a haircut for a while now, and so we made that happen for him on Sunday too! He had grown his hair the longest it had ever been, and had only had 2 haircuts in the past almost 2 years! (Since he has been married, ;) I think he looks SO HANDSOME!
After Carew's haircut, he and Kara gave our family all homemade fortune cookies with THE BEST messages inside!!! :)
THAT"S RIGHT!!!! Kara and Carew are HAVING A BABY!!!!!
What FUN news and an awesome surprise to learn that our family that we love so much is growing, and that by the end of the year we will get to have another sweet little grandbaby to love, but our very FIRST Trickett grandbaby! What a special surprise!
Carew and Kara, we love you so much and couldn't ne happier for you!!! Congratulations!!!
Oh...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY CAREW!!!

A Stake Dance and a Winter Camp

This weekend Kambriella went to her first stake dance and LOVED IT!!!
Cambria, Kambriella, and Kayla all went together, and boy did we have a lot to hear about when it was over!!! 4 boys, lots of laughter, and a little bit of avoiding the awkward ones... :)

Gavin also had an adventure this weekend on the winter camp with the young men from our ward. I think they may be CRAZY thinking it is fun to sleep out in the freezing cold rain and snow...but they had a blast! (And Gavin said he didn't even get cold!)

Heaven

My best friend and me in a little piece of heaven ;)

Friends

Yesterday was so much fun for Kesslyn!
She got to go to Sydney's birthday party at Jump Around Utah!
This makes me especially happy to see because every mom wants their kids to have friends, and lots of them, so to see Kesslyn laughing and having fun with Sydney, Annie, and the other kids there was so  great! Keep making good friends Kesslyn!
You are getting so good at it!

A State of Mind

Sooo... I've been sick, but I'm on the mend! 103 fever, deep congestion and cough for 7 days...no pneumonia, covid, or influenza...just a nasty virus.
My kids say that being sick is a state of mind, so in that case...I'm NOT going to be sick anymore. :)

Also, Kinley Susette and her friend Kylee stopped for a surprise visit and brought me flowers! :) It was so sweet and SUCH a big surprise!
Then, of course, she had to pick me up, like her mom always does, and I feel so heavy, and we laugh and laugh. :)
Thanks for the surprise last week Kinley! I love you!
