The Heart On the Mountain

The other day Kesslyn and I were driving in the car when she said, 

"Mom! Look at the heart on that mountain!"

I had my eyes glued to the road, and just as I looked at the mountain I saw it. A PERFECT heart shaped out of perfectly beautiful trees sent to Kesslyn and me, and anyone else who happened to be fortunate enough to have eyes to see the gift from our perfectly loving Heavenly Father.

That is one reason I love my little ones SO much...their hearts are pure and innocent and they truly do see the good and the love in everything!

 

Kesslyn's Tea Party

Kesslyn prepared it all by herself and invited us to join...sliced apples, fruit snacks, water, and graham crackers with frosting. 

Kesslyn said that the frosting is the best part of any tea party! ;)

A Girls Weekend & Some Awesome Boys

Over the weekend my sister and I went on a little road trip to St. George to visit our mom. it was so good to have a little girl time together...we did a little shopping and fixing up of a few things for my mom at her house (light bulbs, batteries, an ironing board, picture frame, bedspread...) and we were sure to laugh and talk and eat yummy food. :) Like Kneaders fruit tarts and raspberry pie...:)

We are going to try and make a few more visits more regularly throughout the year.

 I think it will be good for all of us!

We also had church yesterday, and I caught these boys doing their duties and washing and sanitizing the sacrament trays after church. These boys are so so good and I feel so happy and proud as a mother to see them so willingly and happily doing these sweet services and fulfilling their priesthood responsibilities.

I love them so much!

Also, after church we drove up to our cabin to check on things to get ready for Thanksgiving! 

It was beautiful and snowy and it felt like the holidays, which is always a happy time for me. :)

I hope that the pandemic can subside soon..our state just got put on a 2 week shut down from any social gatherings, which would really ruin our Thanksgiving plans with the family...

We will pray for the best, and move forward with faith, like we always do!

One Last Picnic Lunch- Fall 2020

Yesterday, November 4th, 2020, it was 70 degrees outside, and so Clint, Kesslyn, and I went on one last picnic lunch date at the Murray Park. We picked up some Chik-fil-A, sat in the sunshine, and talked about a lot of things. I remember looking around and taking it all in...the laughter and smiles, the smells, the feel, the autumn leaves all around us...I loved every minute of it. 
(And in just 2 more days it is supposed to get really cold and SNOW!!!)

We put out flags in the neighborhood today, I voted for Donald Trump for President of the United States of America, and we are still waiting for the results to come in...

God, Please Bless America, and it's leaders.

 

So Much Love

This week I was able to participate in a leadership conference via zoom with Elder Jeffrey R. Holland and President Henry B. Eyring.

I felt so privileged to be invited to participate, and to learn from such amazing and loving leaders. I felt SO much love pouring out of Elder Holland, that it inspired me to be that kind of a disciple.

As I sat and listened to them talk back and forth in a very candid conversation I caught myself smiling at the thought of just being a fly on the wall listening to them and witnessing them receiving personal revelation. It was truly amazing.

I also left there being inspired to be a better leader and to be sure that I take advantage of every opportunity that I have when I am with other people (specifically those who I am serving with) to teach and testify  that they may walk away better people and more uplifted than when they came.

I believe that with the Lord's help and the guidance of the spirit I can do my best to try.

I LOVE the gospel of Jesus Christ and I LOVE my Savior, and I LOVE these precious people that emulate Him and inspire us each day.

 It was a great conference. :)

Halloween 2020

This year Halloween was on Saturday, and it looked and felt quite different than any other Halloween I have ever experienced. After living in the Covid-19 pandemic for nearly 8 months now, and with record cases being reported even daily, we decided to find something to do with just a few of us, while still celebrating and having fun! So, we attended the movie theater for the very first time since the pandemic and watched an old classic Halloween movie on the big screen, "Hocus Pocus!"

The thing I actually love the most about going to the movies, is eating the big bucket of buttery popcorn! (And I hadn't had any popcorn in a couple of years because I had my braces on, so it was so nice to get a bucket and snack away while we watched the Halloween movie together!

We reserved the luxury seats and ended up being the only people in the theater! I guess it was almost like we rented the entire theater for ourselves! Fun!! :)

After the movie, as we were walking out, we saw posters advertising movies that were supposed to come out months ago, but becasue of the pandemic, that never happened, and the theaters all shut down.

It was almost as if we had traveled back in time as we saw the poster advertised for "APRIL" and here we were on Halloween day, October 2020! WIERD!!!

But I also found it interesting that the title of the movie that we were looking at was titled, "No Time to Die." ~Which is exactly how we are feeling about this crazy pandemic! Plenty of people across the world have lost loved ones to the pandemic, while the majority of the population still try to live life as "normally" as possible. We have SO much to look forward to the future for in optimism, and have NO TIME to die. ;)

After the movie was over, we took Kambriella and her friend Emrey back to her house to go trick-or-treating, Dallin, Gavin, and Carew all had parties of their own that they were at, and the rest of us took Kesslyn back home where we would take her trick-or-treating for a bit.

The streets were pretty quiet as not many people were out, and I only had my doorbell ring twice which was crazy to me...but that's ok. We still had a fun holiday and most of all enjoyed being together with people that we love. That's ALWAYS my favorite part of everything we do!

Missionary Focus Week and the Parable of the Pumpkin

Last week we went to the Peterson Farm and picked pumpkins for our family to carve for Halloween, and also to carve and deliver to widows and single sisters in the ward.

Every other month we have the opportunity to participate in a missionary focus week, which is where we get the full time attention of the full time missionaries in our ward where we hold daily zoom meetings or even meet in person when possible, and we also get to focus our service around missionary work.

This missionary focus week was headed up by the relief society, and we wanted to do a different kind of service, and so we invited the ward and all of the families to carve a pumpkin together, print off our "parable of the pumpkin" (written by Susette Trickett), and then go and deliver it with a message of love to anyone they felt could use a smile.

 It was a good feeling just thinking about the fun that families would have together preparing for and participating in this type of a service project.

It also warmed my heart to think of the single sisters who would receive a visit, a message of love, and get a jack-o-lantern that would remind them of that love.

I know that my own family had fun going to the pumpkin patch and picking out pumpkins that would get to be delivered!

We enjoyed carving them while listening to fun music and eating caramel apples and apple cider donuts. :)

Dallin and his friend Jordyn carved a Scooby Do that looked more like Tigger because it was orange. ;)

Gavin's was the basketball, Kambriella's was the little pumpkin house, Kesslyn's was the unicorn, Dallin also turned the green gourd into a witch, and the 3 happy pumpkins were carved by me and Carew to deliver to the sisters.

Kesslyn and Kambriella came with me to deliver the pumpkins and the smiles, and it did not disappoint.

I hope that my children will remember and love the feeling that they get when they do service for others. It's one of the main reasons why I try to involve them anytime I am taking/doing something for someone else.

The worth of souls is great in the sight of God, and whether you are on the giving or the receiving side of service, SERVICE  and missionary work bring the spirit and love of our Savior into our lives in so many ways.

May we all remember to serve as the Savior did, and to "put His light inside" of those we serve!

Trickett Halloween Party 2020

This is our family for the Trickett Halloween party this year!

We had just arrived home from California late the night before and I was very impressed with the costumes that we all pulled off at the last minute. :)

Seeing everyone in the family and all of the fun costumes is always so much fun, and the kids absolutely LOVE being with their cousins! This is a great family right here and we are so blessed to have them all in our lives.

Clint was "my cow" and I was a cowgirl. :)

...and he made me laugh A LOT. :)

Kambriella was a little devil (with her friend at school who was a little angel), and Kesslyn was "Princess Kesslyn dressed up like Belle." ;)

And that is literally what she told everybody! :)

So much fun at this time of year, with or without a pandemic. ;)

 

Happy 49th Birthday Clint!

On Thursday the 29th, we celebrated my sweetie and his 49th birthday!

We drove to Park City where we stayed in one of our very favorite places - Hotel Park City!

The tall red Christmas tree is there every year and always makes me smile because even though we are around the Halloween holiday, to me, fall represents the beginning of the "holiday season" and so much fun lies in store. :)

Inside of Hotel Park City is a beautiful restaurant called Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, which is also one of our favorites, and Clint was spoiled with a delicious steak, shoestring fries, asparagus, and a chocolate explosion for dessert! Happy Happy Birthday to you my love! 

I love you so much and I love who we are becoming together with the gospel of Jesus Christ at the foundation of all we do, and with our Savior at the center of our marriage relationship. You have always been a selfless and Christ like example for me and I continue to learn and grow from you each and every day. Thank you for inviting me to your birthday party! I kind of felt like the guest of honor myself, so thank you for always spoiling me and loving me so abundantly! I LOVE YOU!!! XOXOXO
