Happy Halloween!

 Happy Halloween!!! :)

Yesterday Kesslyn had her preschool Halloween party and I got to go and help for a bit...

 She only changed her mind (and outfit) 4 times that morning of what she wanted to be...;)

 She started out as Princess Aurora, then she was Ariel, then Princess Blue (which is one of Kierra's old "water" dance dresses that Kesslyn loves to wear...), and finally went to school as Cinderella.

 Phew! That was exhausting! ;)

 I loved watching her with her friends at school, and I loved that she begged me to take treats to pass out to her friends!

 When I was at the store buying treats for the trick-or-treaters, she begged me to buy some to take to her class...she was the only one who had treats to share, and watching her pass them out to her friends was so sweet. I could tell she felt happy to share and it was something that made her feel good and feel special, so yes baby girl! You can take treats to class anytime! :)

 Clint and I also got to go to the Jazz game last night!

It was a late game and we were invited to go with our new neighbors (and old friends) Bonnie and Nolan Merritt.

 We felt spoiled as we sat in a Mountain America luxury suite and ate brisket, salad, and sweet potato fries, and all the food and drinks we wanted...

 THEN...you should have seen the dessert cart that showed up right outside our suite! We had so many sweet choices to choose from that I kind of felt like I was Harry Potter picking treats from Honeyduke's Sweetshop!

 Dad chose a bowl of cookie dough and a bowl of ice-cream AND watched history be made as the Washington Nationals won the World Series for the first time since 1924! Clint joked about his neck hurting from looking back and forth in the suite from on the right watching the Jazz game, then turning and looking to the left to see the World Series game that was on the T.V. there...poor guy!

How could one person handle the pain??? ;)

 It was a fun night and we had an enjoyable time visiting with Bonnie and Nolan.

I am so grateful (and spoiled) for these fun times, and grateful for good people who love us! It was a memorable time! Now bring on the trick-or-treaters!

Celebrating My Sweetheart

 Yesterday we celebrated my sweetheart and his 48th birthday!

I visited him at work where I was happy to see that I was not the only one trying to make sure he had a good day...:)

 Two of our employees, John and Wendy, had gotten him a bouquet of balloons that Kesslyn and I quickly took and tied to his scooter that he rides from building to building! It was fun to see the balloons trailing behind him as he rode...;) (and Kesslyn really liked them too and got to take home the purple one. ;)

 I brought cheesecake for everyone to share down at work, Clint's mom had made one of his favorites, Black Bottom cupcakes, and Cody, our Sound Off rep and good friend had bought him little bundtlet cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes...Clint honestly got spoiled with treats that were every shape, size, and color...;) ;) but in all honesty, MY treats were his favorite as usual...:)

 After work, we picked up a couple of friends, Bobbi and Clint Astle (Bobbi shares the same birthday as my Clint) and took them out for a birthday date! We ate one of our favorite dinners...Pizzeria Limone...

 ...and then went to the Hale Center Theater and watched the Phantom. 

To say it was amazing would be an understatement! Those performers had voices so strong and bold and beautiful and they did an amazing job taking us right into the story. I forgot that I was watching a play and felt more like I was experiencing someone's story of their life...We all loved it.

 I am a lucky girl that gets to spend not only this life, but all eternity with my best friend. I love him so much and tried to spoil him and help him have a Happy Birthday, but it is always a "win-win" situation because I get to experience every bit of the celebration with him and I always love every minute of it. :)

Fall Break 2019

 This Fall Break was different than most of the fall breaks we have had because 1)We had 10 DAYS OFF from school! and 2)We just moved and desperately needed the time at home to unpack! 

So, we didn't go anywhere. 

We did do a couple of fun activities, but for the most part, we needed and enjoyed just staying home.

Idid take the kids to Waffle Love one morning for brunch...:) I had pumpkin spice waffles and yes, they were divine. :)

 We also took a very quick trip to the cabin to get things ready for the young women to come stay, and for the winter preparation coming fast...

 We invited the Butler kids at the last minute, and they all got to come! It made for a fun little evening that really was unexpected. Everyone had a friend, and everyone had fun!

 We enjoyed yummy treats from fiends...

Homemade Apple Pie from Joanne Huff! YUM!

 Kambriella played a little bit of basketball with friends, and has Bantam league tryouts again tonight and a Jr. Jazz game too! :)

 Kesslyn a.k.a. Wonder Woman enjoyed a date with her dad at the Jazz game too! All of these girls LOVE their dad! He is such a good guy and TODAY is his birthday!!!

I am planning on spoiling him and taking him on a date tonight AND tomorrow too! :)

 You can never have too much birthday fun, right?? ;)

 We've also eperienced some cold weather and even woke up to snow one morning! (Although it was quickly gone in a few hours...)

It has been a really good and much needed break from school, but this morning, we are all getting back into the routine. It should be good for everyone, although I do enjoy having my little ones home. I love my family so much and love spending time together even if it is unpacking boxes, loading food storage shelves, and organizing spaces. I was grateful to have 10 days with them and all of their help. They are good kids and I'm grateful that they are mine!

The Spirit of Halloween

 This year to get into the spirit of Halloween I took the family to Soldier Hollow for a haunted wagon ride!

It was festive and spooky and everything I had hoped it would be as we rode in the horse drawn wagon through the dark mountainside while listening to an animated story of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I screamed out loud multiple times as creatures came alive from the woods and the Headless Horseman himself chased us through the night! We barely made it across the bridge just in time to escape his doom...

It was so fun and totally got us into the spirit of Halloween. :) We went out for ice-cream after and had a fun family night together.

 We also went to the Trickett family Halloween party over the weekend!

The girls and I were Dia de los Muertos skeletons! They were so cute and so good to sit through getting their faces painted. I on the other hand felt like I looked...famished and exhausted from moving into a new home and literally working my fingers and everything else to the bone! ;)

 We used a couple of Kambriella's old dance costumes and I thought they were the cutest skeletons I ever did see! :)

 Gavin was Alfalfa (spot on!) and Clint went as a bowler, thanks to Dallin's everyday wardrobe. :)

 It was a good time visiting with family and friends, playing games, and watching the kids interact with all of their cousins. We are so thankful for this good family we belong too!

 Now I can't wit for the rest of this fun week! Clint's birthday, a fun visit from my sister in Alaska, and Halloween itself! Bring on the fun! :)

Haunted Houses With Grandma and Grandpa Trickett

One of the best Halloween traditions is when Grandma and Grandpa Trickett come over and build haunted gingerbread houses!

They come to our  house bringing the houses premade along with all of the candy toppings, and let the kids be creative and decorate their own houses in whatever way they want...

They always help the little ones put enough frosting on though so that their candy will actually stick! ;)

Then their little wheels start turning and their little hands start decorating and before you know it...

...we have some pretty spooky creations! :)

Kesslyn's house was very colorful!

Kambriella's house was very creative with ghosts peeking out the windows!

Gavin's was very quaint with a candy corn campfire for the cat and ghost! :)

...and Dallin's was so SCARY! Literally a hot haunted MESS with speared kitty's on the roof, ghosts coming out from under the house, and melted candy corn drizzled all over the place! :0

The kids had a fun time with their grandparents, and what I really loved was how Grandpa Trickett taught a spiritual lesson about our homes and what we put into them, and that we are all unique and different in our own special way. We ended our time together by playing games, and then Grandma and Grandpa gave the kids this Halloween puzzle to work on together. They completed the whole thing in just about an hour and had a fun time working on it together.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for loving out family and creating these fun memories with us!

Cleaning Up

 After spending the entire day yesterday cleaning up our old home, (Kesslyn did a fabulous job on those baseboards!) we are just about ready to put it up for sale!

It has been a good home, lots of happy memories and traditions made there... and we are joyfully carrying on the good family times in our new home. 

It only gets better when we stick together!

AND... families that work together stay together. 😊

Picking Pumpkins On the Farm

 Last week Clint and I went to Kesslyn's preschool field trip on the farm! This is just one of the reasons that I love Little Farmers Preschool so much!!!

 We met on the farm and listened to one of the farmers teach the children about pumpkins and seeds and how things grow... they sang songs and learned how to make seeds magically disappear...😁

 Kesslyn rode on the swing at the market and was just so happy that we were there together for the fun!

 We walked across the grounds and hopped onto a wagon ride that was pulled by a tractor and made our way out into the pumpkin patch!

 It was fun to be there together and to see all of the beautiful fall colors everywhere... the weather was beautiful and I was so glad to be sharing this experience with Clint too...

 As soon as the tractor stopped,  we hopped off the wagon and walked around trying to help Kesslyn pick the perfect pumpkin to take home! She was so happy with her pumpkin and I was so grateful that Clint was able to get away from work for a few minutes to enjoy the afternoon together. 🥰

After the field trip was over,  Kesslyn was invited to stay and play with a friend,  and so Clint and I took advantage of the moment and went  to lunch together and even had dessert. ❤

It was a perfect afternoon on the farm!
