Every summer for the past 5 years or so, Grandma Trickett and her sister, Aunt Cherie, have hosted a summer camp for all of their grandkids! The kids have always loved it and looked forward to that special time up in the mountains with Grandma and their cousins.
I thought it was so sweet how Jim wanted so badly to carry on Grandma Gerry's legacy and host Grandpa Camp this year. It's always been called "Grandma Camp", but with the passing of Gerry, it just had to change.
Grandpa Camp was a great success, and these sweet kids love their Grandpa so much! But we wouldn't be honest if we didn't say it felt very different without having Grandma there.
I know everyone tried their best to enjoy being together, but we miss Grandma Gerry!
The food and games, tubing down the river, the crafts and the tea party...all of it was fun, and I'm so grateful to be a part of a family who cares SO MUCH about family.
Grandma AND Grandpa Trickett have been wonderful examples to their grandchildren, and have helped forge strong bonds of love.
We are grateful for this awesome family that we are apart of, and look forward to many more years of Grandpa Camp!
