Trickett Family Christmas Party 2019

These are some of the greatest highlights of our Trickett family Christmas party this year!
Wrapping a goat  (that pooped all over the place!)
Decorating Grinch sugar cookies that Aunt Ginger made...
All the kids had a great time using their creativity...;)
They each turned out uniquely individual. :)
But we definitely do have some little artists in the family! ;)
...and I think they were each a little proud of their work too. :)
We played so many fun games too!
Balancing Oreo's on tissues with holes poked in them...
...adding more Oreo's all the time...
Visiting with loved ones and snuggling Easton...
 Christmas trivia...
 Christmas trivia...
 ...and more Christmas trivia...
 Let me tell you...
The Trickett's are some of the most competitive people I know!!!
...which makes for some FUN party games!!! :)
There was more visiting and snuggling with Easton...
...and even more games like seeing how many balloons we could fit into "Santa's red suit!" :)
...chasing rolls of wrapping paper before they would fall over...
(And my family dominated in that game...;)
More and more snuggling with baby Easton...(seriously the best part of the night!)
Cousin time always equals fun time, and there was a lot of that going on too...:)
Gift exchanges and white elephant gifts...
...and instead of Santa visiting this year, we got the Grinch!
...and really he wasn't so scary...
...most of the kids loved him (and knew it was just Grandpa;)...
Except for poor baby Easton!!! He thought the Grinch was SO scary!!!
It took him a minute to stop feeling upset...
...but when he did, he was the CUTEST little sweetie ever. :)
And THAT is a little summary of the chaos of the Trickett Family Christmas party 2019!
Thanks Laura and Kevin for all of the fun!

Suessical the Musical and a Lodge Pole Bed

The weekend was full of fun and family time which is always my favorite. :)
We were able to go to the Hale Center Theater performance of Suessical the Musical!
I honestly wasn't too excited about this one because I just didn't know how they would take Dr. Suess and make it a fun and entertaining show, but boy was I mistaken!! It was one of the BEST shows we have seen yet! The Cat in the Hat was HILARIOUS and reminded me of Jim Carey...seriously!!!
Plus, what made it even better was that we got to take Kesslyn this time!
Technically children are supposed to be 5 to attend the Hale Center plays, but after all,  she IS in her 5th year of life (According to Clint who wanted to follow the Spirit of the law, rather than the letter of the law)!
I'm SO glad we took her! She was so well behaved and LOVED the show! :)
Later that night we took a drive up to the cabin and brought a new lodge pole bed that we needed to put up there...
And it's funny how we often get ourselves caught up in snow that we never planned on! With no snow at our house in Riverton it's easy to forget to plan for it being at the cabin, even though its only a little more than an hour away...
So...Clint had to pull out the tractor and plow the driveway so that we could get the furniture up to the house. Gavin was in shorts and Vans, and Dallin didn't even wear a coat so I ended up giving him mine. :)
They ended up riding the furniture up to the house on the bucket of the tractor, and then driving the boys back to get the next pieces in the bucket of the tractor too!
It was fun for them AND fun for me to watch. :)
I love how Clint can take something as simple as moving a bed and turn it into a fun adventure for these kids. I just love him and the husband and father that he is. I love him SO much.
After we were all done moving the HEAVY furniture and freezing our fingers off in the 15 degree weather, we boiled a pot of water and warmed up with hot chocolate.
We finally rolled in at home around 12:30 a.m. and fell into our beds so grateful for the fun day and for being TOGETHER. :)

More Gifts of Time

 Meet Aunt Kesslyn!:)
Just 4 years old and so thrilled to be meeting her baby nephew Easton!
It may have taken a while for us to convince her that she would LOVE being an "Aunt" and not an "ant" like she thought she was going to be, but now she loves it!!! :)
 And Aunt Kambriella!
She loves baby Easton too, and being an Aunt!
What I love about these pictures too is that Kambriella is around the same age as Kierra was when she got Kambriella as her baby sister!
Now just look where we are and how far we've come! It's just crazy!
On Friday December 20th Santa sent our family on another Gift of Time to see the Piano Guys Christmas Concert!!! We LOVE the Piano Guys!!!
And we have LOVED our Gift of Time letters from Santa and how everything he sends us to do, we get to do with Easton as our reminder of baby Jesus, and seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child.
We went to an "Inn" (The Snowed Inn) where we learned to make room for Christ in our lives, and with this concert, we got to remember the glad news that was sang of by the angels who proclaimed Christ's birth!
These reminders are special and fun, and we had such a great time at the concert (although Kesslyn's face would make you think otherwise...;)
There are many things that I love about the Piano Guys...
-their amazing musical talents
-their ability to bring the spirit
-their humility in what God had blessed them with
-their love of God and family
-and their nerdy and yet hilarious dad jokes :)
They are simple and humble guys who have made a living doing what they love, and sharing the gospel while they do it. They are awesome!
And what made the night for me, was when they ended the concert with my very favorite song that they perform...
"The Fight Song"
They have taken the Fight Song and mashed it together with Amazing Grace and added a Celtic feel with bagpipes and shouts of "Whooah!"
Let me tell you...it moves me to tears from the spirit EVERY time I hear that song...I love it.
It was an awesome Christmas gift of time!

The Snowed Inn

This Christmas was  magical for many reasons, but by far my favorite was having my entire family together again. :) So, as soon as we were all together, Santa began giving us the Gift of Time. :)
Kierra, Riley, and Easton made it to our house on Wednesday December 18th, and we spent the evening catching up, and loving on that baby!
The next day, Santa was so kind and sent us to Park City to the Snowed Inn, which was one of our very favorite places of all time!!! We met at the Payday Lift at the ski resort where we climbed in our very own horse drawn sleigh and traveled up the mountain...
We were all bundled up warm and the heavy winter blankets that were in the sleigh kept us warm as we ascended up the mountain to the restaurant.
We were all amazed at the strength of these beautiful horses that so easily trotted up the mountain pulling all of us behind them...it was a magical snowy Christmas night, and even the sight of the horses on the snow and the sleighs made it feel like Christmas!
Aren't they beautiful??
(Right out of a Christmas card...;)
When we arrived at the top of the mountain we took some pictures by the horses and then went inside to the warm and cozy Snowed Inn.
The wranglers that took our pictures kept saying that this needed to be next year's Christmas card...
We'll see. :)
But I'm so glad we could record all of the fun with all of the people...
...and that everyone in the family was genuinely happy to just be together. :)
The Snowed Inn is so cozy and inviting with 2 stoked fireplaces blazing and live music being played...
Their hot apple cider is to DIE for...and the lights and the atmosphere made me feel so happy just to be there...then you add in all of my favorite people and you can tell why it is one of my favorite things!
I wondered how little Easton would do on this little outing, but he was a champ!
I think he wants to spend EVERY Christmas with Lolli and Pop! ;)
Riley is so good to Kierra and it has been fun to watch him in his new role as a dad...I'm so grateful they found each other because they make such a great team!
And here we have the "Func" which is a self-proclaimed title meaning the "Fun Uncle." ;)  ;)
...and because they can never do anything without the others, we also have the "Bunc" and the "Grunc!" :)
...meaning the "Best Uncle" and the "Greatest Uncle."
I just love these boys! :)
After spending about 2 hours there eating yummy food, listening to Christmas songs, and visiting with each other, we put on all our warm winter clothes and headed back outside to our horse drawn sleigh, and headed back down the mountain.
The kids took one last opportunity to pet the horses and admire their beauty...
...and then it was home to Riverton we went!
What a fun and magical way to spend time together and to celebrate the Gift of Time!

Faith, Love, and Family in a Christmas Card

Our 2019 family Christmas cards summed up our year quite nicely...
"Faith, Love, and Family!"
As we spent our year traveling and having fun, one thing was always constant...the temple was a place we visited and gathered often. It is a symbol of love, unity, and a goal of ours to be together forever...
And I know we can make it! IF we work TOGETHER being unified in our goals...
On this card was represented 6 different temples...
Jordan River, Utah
Paris, France
Salt Lake City, Utah
San Diego, California
Rome, Italy
and Oquirrh Mountain, Utah
...so many of the places we have loved!!!
...and our sweet new grandson Easton!
