RHS Tennis Team!

Guess who made the Riverton High School Tennis Team???
Congratulations Gavin!!!! (And good friend Ashton too! ;)
And congrats on your opening doubles match win yesterday too! We are so proud of you!
Gavin and his buddy Ashton both wanted to try out for the tennis team, and they worked so hard and learned a LOT during their 3 day try outs!
They both made the team and are already loving the sport that they are continuing to learn. They are a part of a good group of boys that will help them feel included and important too as they transition into high school next year. Gavin, you are an awesome kid and we are so proud of who you are growling up to be! Not only a good tennis player, but someone who is sensitive to the spirit and will be a light for all those around you.
Congratulations to you Gavin and Ashton!!!
We love you!

Congrats Sadie!

Sadie Oldroyd was one of my young women when I served there over 5 years ago, and now she is married! :)
Over this past weekend, Clint and I attended Sadie and Luc's wedding reception, and a few weeks ago, our neighborhood threw a drive by bridal shower for Sadie as well.
The weather was beautiful and smiles were BIG as everyone was so happy to be gathered, and happy for Sadie!
We live in a neighborhood with some pretty amazing people, and I feel blessed to call these people "mine!"
Congratulations Sadie Oldroyd Douglas!
We love you!

Carew & Kara ~ Engaged!

On Saturday, February 20, 2021 Carew asked Kara Michelle Johansen to marry him for time and all eternity.
And guess what???
She said YES!!!
Carew and Kara had gone ring shopping and picked out something beautiful, and Carew just had to wait for the day when the ring would be finished and ready to pick up.
That day finally came and then I don't think he could ask her fast enough!
It was so cute watching him full of nerves and excitement as he was anticipating the day, and when it finally came, I was happy to be a small part of it.
Carew had already taken Kara's dad Jeff out to dinner to ask for her hand in marriage, and when Carew said he wanted to do it in front of her family, I knew that it would be something very special for not only Kara, but for all of her family as well.
Kara's grandma Arlene was kind enough to let me into her back yard to set up a romantic display for Carew.
And because we had very little time to do this, my friend Joanne came to help and be an extra set of hands to get it all done in time to get out of their house before Kara and Carew arrived.
Kara's grandparents were hosting a Valentine's dinner for their family, and it was an evening that Kara was already looking forward to with her family, and had no idea what was coming!
As the family gathered for dinner and a family prayer, Carew interrupted and said, "Just one more thing..."
He took her outside and got down on one knee!!!
And she said YES!

Later that evening Clint and I went back to their house to pick up the decorations and got to meet the family, and we are so grateful that Heavenly Father is giving Carew such an awesome new extended family to be a part of! Carew and Kara, we are so happy for you!!!
And thank you Carew for picking out such a beautiful girl, inside and out, to join the ranks of the Trickett clan!!! We are SO blessed!!!
WE LOVE YOU!!!

The Alpen Globes at Café Galleria

On February 17th Clint and I got to take a little "post-Valentine's" date to a very beautiful, special, and romantic place...
the Alpen globes at Café Galleria in Midway!
At Christmas time my sister and I saw these amazing glass and wooden globes that people were eating in, and we thought, "WE HAVE to go there!!!" So, we booked their next available night, which was February 17th!
And although we did not end up getting to go with my sister Tiffany and Colby  (who were recovering from the corona virus), we had a ball with our friends April and Max Gruber. They are such good people whom we have grown to know and love over the years. Our children are all good friends and they are someone we feel comfortable and confident with when our kids are there. We kept their 4 kids while they were on a 10 day family cruise last year (before the pandemic hit), and they helped us with the girls while we were gone on our Valentine's trip, and this was a sort of "thank you" to them for helping us out.
They were delighted to say the least. ;)
This place was a combination of all the things that I  LOVE!!!
Light, snow, beauty, ambiance, hygge, romance, friends, PIZZA, my hubby...;) ;) ;)
…and the list goes on and on. But the food was delicious!
(Including the crepes we had for dessert! :)
Each globe had it's own heater and sliding glass door, and one thing that we loved about it, was how private the dining experience was. You could have a wonderful conversation without all of the background noise of other people and conversations. It is probably one of my new very favorite places to go for a fun and romantic date!
I went straight home to try and book it again, but it was booked for dinner through June! So, I went ahead and booked it for breakfast for Carew's birthday with my family.
I can't wait to experience it in the beautiful morning  with my kids here in a week or so too.
Here's to creating new and happy memories with people that I love!

A Month Full of Love

The LOVE month has already come and gone!!!
How can that be??
So much has happened and it's time to play a little catch up now that we are in a new month!
(Welcome March! And Happy Birthday little Brother Shane! :)
Making Grandma Trickett's sugar cookies for Valentine's Day is a MUST, and so that was one thing we did in February!

We also gave our cat Peeve to Grandma and Grandpa Trickett where he could live with his sister Tilly, be free to roam, and have a happy life. (Because we are just not the best pet owners. Really. We are not. :)
We went to our cabin and had home church (or maybe I should say "cabin" church. :)
It's always fun to go there and spend quality time together playing games, watching movies, enjoying the beauties of nature, and relaxing. Totally the BEST.
We also came home to many fun Valentine's on our front porch, including these beautiful personalized cookies for Kesslyn from her primary teachers!!!
We also delivered Bundt cakes to many friends and neighbors...
…went to one of our favorite places ever! Classic skating. :)
I delivered dinner to a friend who was sick...
And my new presidency and I went and helped a new family in our ward clean their new home the night before they moved all of their things in. ;)
(And this is the sweetness that I came home too. ;)
Gavin is such a good big brother. :)
I continue to send my sweetheart daily Valentines like this crazy one . :)
We have a habit of celebrating each other multiple times a day through text, but I love it the most when Clint comes home from work and my Valentine is in front of me for REAL. :)
I continue ministering and am grateful for the blessing of modern technology!
I love being able to submit names to the prayer roll of the temple even when I am not able to attend it myself.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is such a blessing to all who will listen...and I love being a part of something so amazing, and something that helps people to find true and lasting peace and joy in this life, and throughout the eternities.
We took a few of the neighborhood girls "heart-attacking" (only with flowers instead of hearts) to welcome in one of the new young women who moved into the ward.
These kids are so good and kind, and I'm excited for Kambriella and all of the experiences that she will get to have being a part of such an amazing organization.
She is such a sweetheart and is really growing up!
I went to watch her play in her double header basketball game the other night and was amazed at her enthusiasm and drive. She is a good one.
I'm glad she's mine! :)
There were so many good things that have happened in February that it's hard to see it already gone!
But more good things lie ahead, that is for sure!
(There will be more "catch up" tomorrow!)
Happy March everyone!
