Team Boy!

Sunday June 4th was such a fun day for the Trickett family!
Carew and Kara had their gender reveal party at Kara's parents house, and we were SOOOO excited for them!
Carew was sporting his pink while Kara was sporting the blue, although they were not sure what they would actually be getting...
Girl? Or Boy?
Family and friends were there to support them...
...and we all wore a pink or blue sticker that said, "Team Boy" or "Team Girl."
I chose "Team Boy!"
Kara's brother Ben held the envelope with the actual information inside, and went shopping for the confetti that would reveal pink or blue...
It was BLUE!!!!
We are getting a little baby boy Trickett here in just a few months, and we could not be more excited for Kara and Carew!
Congratulations you two! WE LOVE YOU!!!
(This was a photo of the girls after the party was over...they were ready and waiting in the car to go home...looking like a Boss! ;)
Go girls!

King's Beach

Yesterday was a beautiful day, and finally warm enough to head to the beach!
We had a relaxing morning at the lodge sleeping in and getting plenty of rest.
We headed into town and went to Subway for lunch before heading over to King's Beach!
The air was windy and a little cool, but the sand was SO WARM!!!
We each sat there in our swimming suits just feeling the warm sand on our bodies and in our toes...
After a little while, the kids started braving the water...
It was a little chilly and definitely took some getting used to...
Kesslyn enjoyed jumping over the waves as they would roll up onto the beach.
She wanted to hunt for seashells, but I had to remind her that we were at a lake and not the ocean. :)
Kambriella and Gavin decided they wanted to try kayaking, so we went and rented them one that they could go out on together.
We watched them get the hang of it together pretty quickly!
They looked like they were thoroughly enjoying themselves out there on the water!
Kesslyn and I had fun playing in the sand, collecting all the different colors of sand, and making "magic mixies" together.
We walked around exploring, doing gymnastics, eating our snacks, and dipping our toes in the water.
After about an hour of kayaking out on the water the kids headed back in. They said they had so much fun and want to do it again today for Kambriella's birthday!
As soon as we got back to the lodge we spent a little time getting things ready for the next day. Kambriella was in charge of laundry while the boys took care of dishes and making dinner, while I wrapped birthday presents in my bedroom. :)
After dinner, we gathered up our movie treats and went back down to the private movie theater and watched the next Hobbit movie. The kids LOVED the private theater, and so did I!
After the movie was over we went back up to our room and had scriptures and prayer and called it a night. Today is going to be a big day since we are celebrating Kambriella's 14th birthday all day!
So glad we have this sweet time together, but I'm sad our vacation is quickly coming to an end...
Time to get out there and enjoy another day...Happy Birthday Kambriella!

Gorilla Rock

Yesterday was another day of adventure out here on our vacation to Lake Tahoe!
We decided to go on a hike up to Monkey Rock!
The views of the lake on the way up were spectacular!
We made sure to take plenty of snack breaks...;)
And guess what???
Monkey Rock looks an awfully lot like a monkey!!
Except if you are Kesslyn...
She said it doesn't look like a monkey!
It looks like a gorilla!! :)
So now we will affectionately call this hike Gorilla Rock! ;)
After exploring, we sat on some large rocks eating our snacks and taking in the views...
Then we went into town and treated ourselves to some yummy ice cream at Susie Scoops!
That's right...ice cream by mom!
We were sitting outside eating our ice cream when it began to thunder and lightly sprinkle, so we headed back to our car.
We drove over to the Olympic Village to play pickle ball!
All 5 of us played together for a while trying to work on teaching the little ones, and then it was time to let the boys play a serious game while I took Kesslyn over to the playground. :)
It doesn't take much to please a little child!
Just take them to a playground. :)
After Gavin ended up beating Clint, we headed over to Tahoe City for dinner, and then back to the Lodge for dessert!
We sat around the fire roasting marshmallows and making smores...
After we ate our smores we decided to stay there around the large firepit to do our scriptures together...
There we sat, underneath the stars enjoying the spirit of gratitude for the wonderful gifts that are all around us. Adding a spirit filled conversation to a fun filled vacation makes all of those memories solidified in our hearts. Thank you Clint for being such a kind and loving priesthood leader for our family, and thank you for making all of our family time possible. We LOVE this family!!!
