It's been 2 months since we were on our trip to the British Isles, and life hit us full force as soon as we got back. So, I have finally resolved to get back to my blog journal so that all of these amazing and priceless memories can be recorded right here. Not only for me to look back with fondness, but so that my children and my posterity will always know how much joy I found in living this life right by my eternal companion and sweetheart while fully engaging and living the gospel of Jesus Christ.
While we were on our 10 day cruise, we traveled with Casey Griffiths and Hank Smith, two very well respected individuals in the world of the church educational system. They shared devotionals with us everyday which enhanced our trip in a deeper and more meaningful way.
This particular day we had a stop in beautiful Ireland!
As you would imagine, everything was green and beautiful!
Everyday we saw so many amazing things out the window of our tour bus, like this golden tree on the top of an old castle.
Rolling hills in the countryside...
So many old cemeteries!
This was an old harbor where ships would come in, and also a place where they fought for their freedom.
We got off the bus long enough to take a picture and to see the fort.
SO MUCH HISTORY!!!
After another ride on the bus, we stopped in the most beautiful city of Kinsale.
We explored the shops in the town...
…and of course we explored the food in the town too!
We found the most quaint outdoor restaurant that had pizza AND crepes on the menu!!!
So, of course, we had to give them both a try! ;)
We also bought macarons and red velvet cake to take back on the bus to share with everyone.
After another ride back on the bus, we drove around seeing more historical sights.
Churches and castles, bridges and buildings...
And of course some of the most beautiful flowers too!
We ended up at the Blarney Castle for some time to explore!
The Blarney Castle is also famous for the Blarney Stone, which we waited inline for an hour to "kiss!"
I wasn't about to miss that opportunity! I'll take ALL the good luck I can get! ;)
The castle was SO COOL to see! But kissing the stone was a little awkward...
After exploring the castle we went back to the shops where everyone else had been shopping around one of Ireland's oldest and most authentic Irish woollen mills. Trust me, I wanted to buy EVERYTHING in the store!!! ;)
Blarney.com is the online store, and I intend to frequent their site from home too. ;)
It was a magical day of sights, smells, and sounds as we headed back to the ship.
