Belfast Ireland

As we headed out on another day of excursions, we HAD to get a picture with Twenty.
Yep!
This little stud's name is Twenty!
His mom found it in an old list of family names and fell i love with it, especially after realizing that this little boy would be her mother's 20th grandchild! He was so much fun to have along on the tour, and reminded Colby SO MUCH of his own son Nick when he was a little kid. ;)
Today was a typical day in Ireland. Wet and rainy!
Our first stop was at the famous Peace Wall where we saw a wall that went for miles that used to keep crime and war separating communities, until it finally became a reminder of peace in their community.
We each got to take a turn writing our names on the peace wall.

After writing on the wall, we got back on the bus and went to the Belfast Castle!

This was one of the first castles built in a Victorian style that everyone ended up loving!

It was so beautiful and so were the gardens!
It was a bonus too for my mom when the bus stopped right at the front door of the castle so we didn't have to walk too far at all. ;)

This was the view from the castle too, the beautiful oceanside!

After we were done at the castle we got back on the bus and went to a downtown market for some lunch, window shopping, and some street entertainment.

We saw some of their government buildings and even the famous Trinity College!

We also got to go to the Titanic exhibit in Belfast which was where the Titanic was actually built!

It was actually really neat to see everything about how the ships were made. Right outside of this window, if you look closely, you can see the white lines that show the actual outline of the length and width of the Titanic, right there where it was built.

It was so sad that so many lives were lost, but the museum did such a wonderful job of honoring those people. It was a neat and very sad part of history to experience and to learn about...
(All before going to get back on our cruise ship! )
The outside of the museum is supposed to look similar to an iceberg, and also has the same number of panels on the outside as the number of people that sailed on the Titanic.
We visited their government building (that was currently shut down) on our way back to the ship.

And one last stop in Belfast before we made it all the way back to the ship...
We stopped at CS Lewis Square!
That's right! This famous author was from Belfast and gathered much of his inspiration for his stories, including Narnia, here in his backyard of Ireland.
