Saturday was a special day for the Trickett family.
To honor and remember Gerry at the 1 year anniversary of her death, we met at Meyers Evergreen Memorial Park in Ogden and gathered around her headstone for a family prayer. We took pictures and visited, gave lots of hugs, and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and light.
Also to honor Gerry, we went back to Grandpa's house and decorated Valentine cookies, something Gerry always loved to do for every holiday.
There is always a loud and happy buzz in the Trickett home when we all get together...
…always lots of conversation and laughter...
…and of course happy times and giggles with the cousins. ;)
Everyone helped paint all of the cookies, and especially helped with the taste testing too. ;)
The rainbow unicorn cookie was my favorite. ;)
I gave it to Kesslyn and she was SO happy. ;)
Kambriella is so talented, and really a little perfectionist. (Hmmm...I wonder where she gets that from!)
Her cookies were amazing!(
Clint had just as much fun painting and decorating the cookies as the little kids I think.
To top off the special memories of Grandma Trickett, Aunt Laura and Aunt Cherie made Valentine firecrackers for all of the kids; little toilet paper rolls filled with candy, and wrapped with tissue paper, ribbons, and stickers. What a special little gift that sends a whole lot of love.
I couldn't help but feel heaven's approval and love as we all stood around Gerry's grave at the cemetery that day. Even though the air was brisk, the sun was warm and the view was full of loved ones and light. I am so grateful for God's plan of Happiness and for eternal families. It really is what this life is all about. Thanks be to God for His Best Son and the matchless gift of HIs great atoning sacrifice. Because of Him, all things are possible.
We are truly blessed.
I am so grateful!
