General Conference Weekend

This October has seemed more like summer than fall with how amazing the weather has been! 70's and 80's everyday, and ice-cream for an afterschool treat!
We celebrated Colby's birthday by going out to dinner at the Mandarin in Bountiful.
Kesslyn and I took a short hike together up the Rocky Mouth Waterfall trail to see the beautiful fall colors...
The waterfall was running small, but I guess that is to be expected by the time we get to October, right?
Kesslyn and I had s fun time on our hike...
...she is my little buddy everywhere I go. :)
Kesslyn, you are so so cute!!!
Clint and I love attending the temple each week, and especially in preparation for general conference!
It's my favorite place to be where heaven and earth connect.
I love the house of the Lord.
We were so excited to go and spend the conference weekend up at the cabin where everything is so still and peaceful.
I brought the "conference cash" and set up shop for everyone to participate in the fun of being present and engaging in conference!
It's a silly little tradition, but everyone LOVES it! I hand out fake money when I see people listening, taking notes, and singing, and then when the session is over, I "open" the store and let people "buy" their prizes.
They are just simple little treasures, but still enough to bring lots of smiles. :)
On Saturday and in between sessions the kids also had fun riding the 4 wheeler around the property.
Dallin and Julia loved it, and Eddy loved it too!
Kambriella, Kesslyn, and the neighbor friend Mary loved it too!
I LOVE these Note Posters that the kids "drew" their notes on while listening to the leaders and their messages. I don't care HOW they listen, I just LOVE that they listen, engage, learn, and feel the spirit while they do this!
Not only are they hearing the messages and feeling the Spirit, but they are seeing their stories and retaining them too. I LOVE general conference and the fact that we can also take the messages with us to study every single day until the next conference comes around too!

President Nelson announced 17 new temples taking the total number of temples that are either open, announced, or under construction to a total of 367 temples!!!
The Lord is truly hastening His work, and it is a privilege to be a part of gathering Israel on both sides of the veil!
President Nelson also said to help the world to prepare for the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. These are exciting times to be living in, and to be a part of the Lord's great work!

The Process Has Begun!

At long last, I am finally able to post these beautiful pictures of what Clint and I have been waiting for for almost two years now!
This is our new lot in Bountiful where we are building a new home, and last week, they finally started moving dirt!
This is a beautiful 2 acre property, and we FINALLY have a hole! :)
It's hard to see the scale of things from a simple picture, so having Clint standing down in the hole made it easier for me to envision the dream.
It may sound crazy, but I love everything about this process...the mountain, the dirt, the air, the sky, the tractors...
The thought of where life has taken me with my best friend by my side, and just where it will continue to take us in the future.
There is still no one else I would rather be enjoying this mortal journey with than my sweetheart and very best friend.
We are having a celestial experience being a covenant couple in a covenant marriage, striving daily to help each other to become the best that we can become.
It was also fun to take the girls up to the lot and let them see the progress! They were both so excited to see it! I also told them that we would probably take weekly field trips to this lot to watch the process until everything is complete.
What a fun journey we are on!
(Here is Kesslyn showing the size of the tractor. ;)
We also saw a few deer on the drive back home, and this one stopped and looked at us for a long time!
And look at the horns too!
We also went to the Mandarin Chinese restaurant for Colby's 55th birthday on Tuesday!
Happy Birthday Colby!
For part of the early celebration, we also made homemade pizzas on Sunday and had birthday cake and ice cream too!
Xaxton was the mastermind behind the homemade pizza dough, and it was delicious!
We started calling him "Uncle Tino!"  ;)
YUM!!!

Doorbell Surprises

This is the cute poster that Kambriella made to ask a friend to the Halloween dance...
She (and all of my kiddos) are so talented with their artistic abilities!

Then, my doorbell rang and no one was there, so I thought Kambriella's friend was answering her to the dance!
But I was wrong, and it was flowers for ME from Julia!
She left a sweet note thanking me for all of the things I have been able to help her with, and I thought it was SO SWEET!
A little later, Kambriella's friend did end up answering her for the Halloween Girl's Pref dance. ;)
Let the fun begin!

A Fun Weekend With Cousins

These two cute cousins got to enjoy an adventurous weekend together!
I dropped Kambriella off at Brier's nail school in Kaysville where they rode up to Wyoming together to go to Homecoming with their cousin Blaze and his friends.
They ate Chik fil A on the drive, then went to a volleyball game, then dinner and the dance, then a movie night!
Then the next day they went to a corn maze, and then a haunted corn maze later in the evening!
They had SO much fun, and they looked beautiful!
Lucky little Kesslyn got to go and have a sleepover with her cousin Eila while Kambriella was gone too.
They had a blast like they always do, and lucky for them, Aunt Laura and Aunt Tammy took them to the fall festival and corn maze up in Morgan too!
Brooks, Colten, Eila, and Kesslyn
Went through the corn maze, and went down the giant slide...
They even got McDonald's after! What more could a little kid want with a weekend with their cousins!?

Spooky Scary Skeletons

As we get ready to welcome in the festivities of October, we have started putting up our Halloween Decorations!
Kesslyn and Kambriella helped me pick out some pumpkins from the Kuwahara Pumpkin Patch, then we brought them home and set them out with our two new skeleton friends, Jack and Davey!
(Jack Sparrow and Davey Jones that is ;)
Kesslyn has been telling me for years that we NEED scary Halloween decorations, and so I finally caved and bought these two "spooky, scary skeletons!"
This is how we do scary...;)

A Bit of Heaven

Easton with his Great Grandpa Trickett
Nothing short of a little bit of heaven...
Kierra, Hayden, Grandpa Trickett, Jill, and Raya

Easton, Riley, and Raya
I really do think that the sunsets at Ko Olina really do look like heaven!
SOOO beautiful!
But so does reading stories at home with people you love, AND....
Going to the temple with the people you love!!!
The temple is the place where heaven touches earth, and that's right where I want to be!
