By Small and Simple Things

"...by small and simple things are great things brought to pass..." Alma 37:6
Looking for ways to serve and lift those around us is one of the best ways to live the gospel.
Whether that be remembering the anniversary of the passing of a friend's infant daughter...
...or taking care of Bernice while her granddaughter is on vacation...
(this is a thank you from serving a family in my ward at the passing of their sweet husband and father)
...or learning about anxiety and depression in order to help the people around me...
...or planning...
...and executing a 102nd birthday parade for my sweet 102 year old friend Bernice...
...buying her a tiara and arranging for a classy ride for her to parade in...
...getting balloons and having my children parade too with my husband's police vehicle flashing it's lights and leading the way...
...all while playing the music "What a Wonderful World" over the P.A. system...
...or trying to help plan fun surprises and activities for some of the most special people in your life...
...like your best friends daughter or your son's girlfriend...
...or even just being ok with the crazy mess of a food fight in your kitchen while your daughter and one of her best friends create a Halloween cake that would scare anyone!!! :)
...or supporting your boys in their quest to obtain their Eagle Scout...
...or checking your daughter out of school early to go and be at a birthday party of a close friend that has moved far away...
The small and simple ways we serve are just tiny little drops in a bucket  that swell to waves of love and support that show people just how much you love them. And although some things go unnoticed, unseen, never recorded or photographed, Heavenly Father sees what you do and what is in your heart, and He cheers us on and LOVES our efforts. He also sends the spirit to manifest the love behind our actions to anyone who is willing to see or feel...
I hope and pray that as we continue a lifetime of service of small and simple things, that those "great things" that are being brought to pass, are testimonies and conversion of the best and deepest kind.
