Isn't it lovely how when you serve and love others you end up receiving more than you ever could give?
As we tried to #Lighthteworld this Christmas season, Clint and I both felt impressed to invite Mike and Joanne Huff over to our house for a nice Sunday dinner.
We had a nice time visiting and when our meal was over we sat in the front room even longer visiting some more!
Joanne took the time to read a story to my children about Christmas and it had a little Olaf "Frozen" flare, including him leaving a special plate of goodies for Santa Norwegian style! (Since that is where their story takes place. ;) The dessert that was left for Santa was called Krumkaka, which was a Norwegian pastry, rolled up and fragile but sweet and oh so yummy!
Joanne's grandmother was also from Norway and had passed down this family recipe of Krumkaka that they too had made from scratch! Mike and Joanne made a special batch for us and our kids and let us try it out and it was delicious! It reminded me of the taste of very thin waffle cones. It was such a fun and special treat and so sweet of them to share that with our family too.
So, the dinner we made, was received with gratitude and love and also a special dessert and an even more special memory for our family.
A perfect Christmas gift!
