Our Week Long Easter Celebration

We have begun our week long Easter celebration! We started on Palm Sunday with our Love One Another table, drawing secret pals, and going on our Easter walk. This year we got to "share" our Easter Walk by video calling Easton in Hawaii and reading this beautiful Easter story out loud to him. Then, because we are so far away, we each went on our own Easter walks. Our family drove to Sandy and found our Easter symbols at a park that we walked around. I know The Johnson's walked around their neighborhood while Riley and Kierra pulled Easton and Raya in their wagon while they collected their symbols of Easter into their Easter baskets. :) I LOVE that my children are wanting to carry on some of our fun family Easter traditions because it makes living and learning about the gospel and Jesus Christ so fun and memorable.
Yesterday we learned of Jesus cleansing the temple and began putting up our picture line on the wall, of all of the events that we are learning about day-by-day during the last week of Jesus' life.
With a focus on the temple, we also did our temple puzzle! (Ok, Kesslyn and Kambriella did the temple puzzle;) But they were so fast that by the time I tried to join them they were already done!
Later that night we all went to see the movie created by the directors of The Chosen called His Only Son. It was the story of Abraham and Isaac. Beautifully made...it helped us to reflect on Heavenly Father giving His Son too. Kara and Carew weren't able to join us at the last minute, and we missed them, but then we invited Maggi. She was so happy and touched, and felt SO loved! I know that things turned out the way Heavenly Father needed them too. We LOVE celebrating Easter and coming closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.
