Shortly after our trip to Colorado, we took another little family getaway to Bear Lake!
This was also something that we had never done before because we did a little combined trip with me and my sister with our families, and 2 of Clint's sisters and their families!
This was a fun combination of cousins and characters that would make us laugh all the time. :)
Our first night there we ate out and then went immediately to get shakes!
After all, you can't go to Bear Lake and NOT get shakes! :)
We stayed at another beautiful Airbnb, and gathered around the firepit at night for a family prayer and scriptures. I LOVE these times together. Fun, and meaningful!
The lake was beautiful, and the morning sky was as big and as far as the eye could see. I went on a run in the morning where I thought was a road that went alongside the mountain, but it actually went all the way UP the mountain!
Needless to say, I got home much faster than heading out. ;)
These times are always nice, relaxing, and enjoying just being together.
It was also Brier's birthday while we were there!
Happy Birthday Brier!
We spent a full day on the lake playing and playing and playing!
One of the main reasons we went to Bear Lake was because I had been wanting to plan one last family getaway to the beach with Dallin (because the beach is his favorite!) before he left on his mission.
Getting all of the family together and finding a time that worked for everyone was not happening, so instead of missing out on the opportunity all together, we did the next best thing!
We took who we could, spent just a few days, and drove just 3 hours away to the closest beach we could find...and ended up at Bear Lake!
I honestly don't think anyone noticed a difference because we were able to accomplish our goal...
..we had fun, we were with family, we enjoyed the sun...
..we played in the water, got dirty in the sand, and had a fun time!
We enjoyed our time celebrating Dallin, AT THE BEACH!
We stayed up late, and played lots of games...
..we had yummy food and even played basketball, ping pong, and pickleball...
..we strengthened relationships and built lots of memories!
Some of us even got in naps! ;)
In my book the time was too short.
But at the same time, I am so grateful for every second that I'm given to be with my family.
The time we have together is constantly fleeting and we can't get it back, so we HAVE to enjoy TODAY!!!
We ate the BIGGEST pizza I have ever seen in my life!
We swam and soaked in the hot tub at the club where we stayed.
The girls even went down the slippery slide in the rain!
We went BACK out for shakes every night we were there!
Because you HAVE to have shakes when you are in Bear Lake!
We rented bikes and road around the town for EVERYONE'S enjoyment (especially those that would pass us by...)
Trust me...we were quite a sight to see!!!
And as fun as it was, it was exponentially a better work out...
..especially when you have Clint for your pedaling partner!
He was NOT much help! ;)
On our last day there we went to a place called Ideal Beach which was where my nieces Desiree and Alora worked.
We had the coolest make shift picnic table on the beach!
(An upside down paddle board!)
Oh ya, and we played and played and played!!!
We even tried to get a hotel room to stay another night because we were having so much fun!
But that didn't work out because of the holiday weekend, they were all booked up!
It was such a fun time, and a great way to celebrate with Dallin since he was getting closer and closer to his mission time!
We cleaned up all of our beach toys and headed out to drive home...
..but not without one more stop to have dinner as a family.
It was such a fun time and I'm so grateful for these good people that I have in my life that love me and don't get too tired of being "together" with me.
Because together with family is my favorite place to be!
