29 Years

On Friday, July 1st, Clint and I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary!
Clint took the day off so that we could spend the entire weekend together, and it was SO nice. :)
We started off the day by watching the new  Indiana Jones movie.
I love the movies! It's so much fun seeing everything on the big screen, and feeling like you are actually IN the movie. ;) It was like we saved the world together before lunch time!
Speaking of lunch time, we grabbed some pizza to ea before we headed up to Deer Valley where we would be staying for the night.
We actually received a gift certificate from a business partner for Christmas that we still hadn't used, so we decided to use it and go and visit this new place.
We stayed at the Stein Erikson Lodge which was a beautiful 5 star resort that made you feel like royalty!
Being up at the resort and in the beautiful upper mountains really made you feel like you were somewhere far off in another country.
The views from our balcony were so beautiful. You could see so much of the valley, and the chair lift to the mountains were right there too...
We had steak, shrimp, and king crab legs for our dinner, at Grub Steak and again felt like royalty!
The drive up the mountain pass to the resort was lined with beautiful trees that were all lit up with lights...
The road was also lined with an alternating between the American and Norwegian flags...
Everything up there was in the tradition of Norway, like the people who founded this resort.
We LOVED our cozy robes and fancy Norwegian chocolates...
We sat in the hot tub together out on the deck 3 times, and it still wasn't enough for me! ;)
We also ate our desserts that we were too full to eat at night, and enjoyed them for breakfast out on the balcony with the morning sun warming us and saying "Hello!"
These were the chocolates that they put on our nightstands. ;)
On Saturday morning it was our real anniversary day, and we had an appointment at the Jordan River temple where we performed sealings. It was one of my favorite parts of the day!
We also had a kind lady offer to take our picture there. She was there with a large group of returned missionaries from the Korea mission where her and her husband served as mission presidents.
After she took our picture, I went over and took pictures of their group for them. It made my heart happy to see so many good people out there visiting the temple and adding so much goodness and light to the world.
After the temple and taking a few minutes to drop off some trek gear for my kids upcoming pioneer trek that they will be going on soon, Clint and I tackled the 96 degree weather and went to play pickle ball!
I felst SO accomplished in beating Clint2 of the 5 times we played...that is until he informed me that he was playing me with his left hand! I guess I have a lot of practicing to do before I will be able to beat him. ;)
After some Mexican food for dinner and another night at the movies ;) we came home and crashed from all of the fun. :) It was an awesome weekend celebrating each other and our loving marriage relationship. As we talked about the things we have experienced over the years, we asked each other to share our thoughts about what we felt was the strength of our marriage. We both agreed that it was the temple! We have attended the temple faithfully and regularly since the day we were first sealed, and it has only brought us closer to one another, and closer to the Savior. We also agreed that there was also things like going on dates, communicating well, learning how to be humble and forgive, and on and on and on...There are many things that it takes to have a successful marriage, and one of those things is to keep treating each other like your number one priority, and never let anything ever come between you, big or small. Keep the Savior and Heavenly Father involved in ALL of your decisions and you will never go wrong.
It's been an amazing weekend, and an amazing way to start the 4th of July celebration too. As we left the movie theater at 1:00 in the morning, this beautiful flag was waving in front of the big and bright full moon, and it immediately filled my heart with so much gratitude.
We have the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. We have an amazing eternal family. We live in the BEST country in the world, and I get to share every day and every adventure with my BEST friend. I love you Clint! Happy anniversary! I look forward too all the adventures that still lie ahead of us! I can't imagine doing it without you!

(We also went to Clint's dad's house on Sunday to welcome Clint's brother Chad and his family Mayumi, Steve, and Luke home to Utah! He just retired from the military and they have moved here from Japan to start their new adventure! I am so excited to have them back!)
