Gavin graduated from the D.A.R.E. program! :)
In 5th grade at Rosamond Elementay School, the Police Department teaches the kids all about setting good goals for life, healthy habits, and how to say NO to drugs and alcohol.
It's awesome when other people reinforce the good things that we are already trying to teach our kids at home!
I was so proud of Gavin! He was chosen as the top essay in his class about what he had learned in the D.A.R.E. program and was invited to read it at the graduation. He did an AMAZING job!!!
Way to go Gavin! :)
All of the kids loved seeing the Unified Police Department's Cop Dog mascot...especially Kesslyn!
As soon as he entered the gym, Kesslyn spit her binky right out and started pointing and saying, "Ta Ta Ta!!!" (Which is actually what she says when she sees a dog! My sister Tiffany's dogs name is Tank, and that is Kesslyn's best attempt at trying to say it...it's so cute!
I love how much Gavin loves his little baby sister and that he was excited to hold her and show her off ;) and include her in the picture that he was getting with his friends. :)
Jordan, Stewart, Ethan, Jaxson, Trey, Alex, Ashton, and GAVIN!!! Such good friends!!!
Here are the boys with our good friend Jon Holloman, who is in our ward, AND volunteers some of his time and efforts with the Unified Police Department. He was there with all of the officers at the D.A.R.E. graduation along with Mayor Applegarth. It was a special occasion and I'm so grateful for all of the good people in our lives that help teach, lead, and prepare my kids for the world ahead that they live in.
I'm also continually grateful for the guidance and direction that comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the one sure rock in this ever shifting world, and I don't know where we would be without it!
